Plane Carrying A Whole Brazilian Football Team Crashes In Colombia… See Photos

A plane carrying a South American football team has crashed in Colombia at around 10.15pm.

The flight was transporting the Brazilian side Chapecoense to Medellin airport when it disappeared off radar.

There were 72 passengers and 9 crew on board the charter plane, which was carrying the team to their match against Atletico Nacional. Officials from Jose Maria Cordova International Airport reported only six survivors in a statement.

A video shared on Twitter claimed to show the moment the plane disappeared from view on flight radar.
According to Daily Mirror, the plane reportedly crashed due to lack of fuel and tt is thought to have come down in Cerro Gordo in the municipality of La Union..
Colombia has been hit by heavy storms which are hampering rescue efforts.
Astatement from the airport said:

“The site of the accident is only accessible by land due to climatic conditions and low visibility,”

“The Colombian Air Force deployed a search and rescue helicopter which had to cancel the mission due to the adverse conditions.

“According to the authorities the police are mobilising all possible help since they are reporting six survivors.”
There have reportedly been a number of fatalities although an exact number is as yet unknown.

However, the commander of La Union fire department said at least 10 people have been injured and are being evacuated from the scene..

No death recorded in accident at FUTA -Police

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed that no member of staff of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA died in an accident involving the backup vehicle of the Vice Chancellor which occurred on the Campus of the University on Monday November 28, 2016. The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph made the clarification while speaking to newsmen.

“The Case in FUTA is that of an accident and no death was recorded. The Victim of the accident was taken to the hospital and he is recuperating. There is no record of death,” Mr. Joseph Stated.

In another development the Management of the University has also confirmed that the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, contrary to reports making the rounds, was not arrested over the accident involving his back up vehicle driven by one of the University’s drivers.

Nigerian man arrested in the U.S. for scamming elderly woman out of nearly $9,000

A 47-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested for scamming an elderly woman out of nearly $9,000 in  Vermillion Parish, Louisiana, US, according to a news release from the Louisiana Attorney General's Office. Attorney General Landry said:

"Our office is on the front lines investigating, arresting, and educating to help stop the awful occurrence of seniors being targeted and preyed upon by scammers". "We want to help Louisiana’s people avoid falling victim to mortgage, contractor, charity and other types of frauds commonly perpetrated on senior citizens."
Chigozie Valentine Agu was arrested on charges of Felony Theft in excess of $5,000, Bank Fraud, Money Laundering, and Racketeering.

The Metro Washington Airport Authority at Dulles Airport arrested Agu following an investigation by General Landry’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) as he re-entered the United States. He was extradited to Louisiana and booked into the Vermillion Parish Correctional Center.
"It is an absolutely despicable crime to take advantage of our elderly family, friends, and neighbors," continued General Landry. "No matter the great lengths these shameless criminals take, my office will do all we can to get justice for their victims."
In May 2016, Agu contacted an elderly Vermillion Parish resident, telling her he was a Department of Homeland Security official and found a piece of luggage containing money he would return to her for a fee.

The LBI found proof that Agu received the money and that he attempted to conceal his crime through bank wire transfers and a third party. Overall, Agu scammed the elderly woman out of $8,890.
